It would also satisfy those etymological purists who keep insisting that Python had nothing to do with the genus of snake.

Of course, if that change went through, I’d expect that the Monty Hall problem would become one of the intro demos for the language. 😛

It’s a shame that the people at Python didn’t think to TM the name years ago, but then who would have thought that any company would stoop low enough to TM a name that has already been in use for years.

Apparently whatever happens will have no significant impact on those of us here in ‘the Colonies?’
